What's one thing you love about working at Bovitz?
I love the feeling of equality between everyone at Bovitz. Regardless of your position or how long you’ve been with the company, everyone is treated with the same level of respect.
Tell me about a life-changing experience you’ve had.
Coming out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community positively changed my outlook on how I move through life. For starters, the fear of not being accepted kept me from living an authentic life. I was terrified of upsetting those around me, which, as a people pleaser, is my own personal nightmare. However, when I came out, I had to let go of that fear. I had to remind myself that if my mere existence is enough to upset a person, I should have no desire to appease them. This realization allowed me to rid myself of the unnecessary need to be validated by others. Not only did this help me to come out, but it also gave me the green light to continue prioritizing what makes me happy.
What's something that people are surprised to learn about you?
I am generally a quiet, meek person, but I harbor an intense passion for communities that are dear to me. I possess this duality where I am too shy to ask for a refill at a restaurant, yet I can eagerly hold a debate on a topic that needs to be voiced. I am constantly advocating for marginalized groups and amplifying voices that tend to be silenced. Upon meeting me, I come off as a person of few words. However, under the right circumstances, you’ll find that I can be very outspoken.
What inspires you?
The idea that the only certainty in life is change. It isn’t uncommon to feel upset about the state of your life or even the state of the world in general. However, I find solace in the fact that change is inevitable. Rather than sulking about an issue, you can be a driving force in its evolution.
Why is being people-first important to you?
I first started my journey into market research while in college, and I was immediately drawn to researching topics that I believed would have a meaningful impact. I aspired to do research that prioritized people and ways to benefit them over anything else. Once I graduated, I didn’t want that journey to end, which is why I am beyond grateful to be a part of the Bovitz team and to continue putting people first.
