I would like people to feel like I've treated them kindly and fairly in life, and it's important to me that my employer feels the same way.

What is one thing you love about working at Bovitz/ION/Communify?

The company puts a lot of trust in their employees to do great work without micromanaging them. As a result, I always feel like I want to do my best work!

Tell me about a life-changing experience you’ve had.

I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's-Lymphoma when I was 20, which is a fairly treatable form of cancer but was nonetheless hard for me to hear. I went through 6 months of chemotherapy and came out with the cancer in complete remission (still is—yeah!). The experience helped me grow up and put some parts of my life into perspective. It was hard, but I'm glad I came out of it feeling like a stronger person.

What's something that people are surprised to learn about you?

I'm a musician but I don't play in any bands or talk about it often, so people are surprised when they see me with an instrument!

What inspires you?

Punk music, people who are better cooks than me (that's a lot of people), and the Appalachian Mountains.

Why is being people-first important to you?

I would like people to feel like I've treated them kindly and fairly in life, and it's important to me that my employer feels the same way.
