Senior Account Manager

I’m constantly inspired by travel. Since working from home became the norm, I have spent tons of time on the road. The main reason that travel inspires me is because it’s nearly impossible to not learn or see something new each time you do it. Whether I am going to Las Vegas for the third time in a year, exploring remote regions of South America, or spending a weekend at my parents or college friends' homes, each trip brings a new perspective and something to learn about.

What is one thing you love about working at Bovitz/ION/Communify?

I love working for a company that not only values, but actively promotes LGBTQ inclusion in marketing. We always strive to make diverse communities feel welcome and valued in our marketing messages, even as LGBTQ inclusion can still turn certain customers off.

What's something that people are surprised to learn about you?

There’s probably quite a few things depending on who you ask. But probably the biggest surprise to most is that I play competitive Texas Hold’em on a regular basis. It’s not often a game people associate with people my age, and people often have lots of misconceptions about the game, in general.

What inspires you?

I’m constantly inspired by travel. Since working from home became the norm, I have spent tons of time on the road. The main reason that travel inspires me is because it’s nearly impossible to not learn or see something new each time you do it. Tell me about a life-changing experience you’ve had.

Hands down, the most life-changing thing I have done was move to New Orleans. While I initially moved there to attend Tulane, I never left. Not only did the city allow me to fully embrace myself, but I got to see the world from a completely different perspective. People acted and behaved differently from where I grew up. That’s something that sounds silly for me to say now, but my 18-year-old self needed that lesson.

Why is being people-first important to you?

Life is better when you work with people who you enjoy spending time with. The most fun activity suddenly becomes a whole lot less fun with the wrong crowd. And the most mundane tasks automatically get much more exciting with the right folks. Oftentimes, I find my closest friends and I will make plans, which turns into just sitting and talking for hours on the couch. People first, activity second. I also find it important to empathize with people on an individual level. To truly understand a person, you must understand where they’ve been and what they’ve gone through.
