Bryce Charbonnet Jones
Designer
I'm inspired by everyday life and not knowing what the next day will bring. It's almost like everyday is a new adventure with its very own highs and lows. I hope that one day something I've done will inspire others.
What is one thing you love about working at Bovitz/ION/Communify?
As I started working here, it was such an easy fit, like this is where I belonged. Working with a team that pushes you to express your creative and design juices to new heights is truly refreshing. As a designer, you can't get any closer to a dream place to work.
What's something that people are surprised to learn about you?
It would have to be my love of anime, which, for a Black kid growing up, wasn’t the coolest or most accepted thing. Sure, it is a big part of pop culture now, but in the ’90s and early ’00s, I was a rare breed. Kids today will never experience the struggle of having to go to a convention to buy poorly dubbed VHS tapes as your only way of getting your favorite anime. Anime had such a huge influence on me artistically both growing up and still to this day.
What inspires you?

Tell me about a life-changing experience you’ve had.
I would have to say the biggest life-changing event in my life was when I completed four years of college working towards going to law school and finding out it wasn't the path for me to be happy. So I did a complete 180 and pursued my true passion ever since I was a kid, which was art and graphic design. Sure, it was a tough pill for my parents to swallow at first, but in true "cool parents" form, they jumped aboard and were the best support system I could have asked for. In the end, I'm as happy as I can be in a career I love and I can jokingly brag that I have two degrees!
Why is being people-first important to you?
As a designer, putting people first isn't just a motto, it's a rule of thumb. It's so important that the people we work with not only have an easy experience communicating with us, but that we deliver exactly what they want or, better yet, something beyond what they even imagined. If putting people first isn't at the top of the list as a designer then you are in the wrong game.
